At our request Laksaviya in Australia has been giving us funds since August 2005 to buy newspapers and to pay a teacher and an assistant. That helped us a great deal. They also shipped four used monitors and a collection of valuable books. Our Coordinating Officer Mr. Kumar Wellangoda’s commitment helped us to get the items cleared from the shipping agents. On 13th June 2006, Mrs. Chitranganie, Mr. Gavaskar, and two other officials of ICTA visited us accompanied by Mr. Pradeep Dias and Mr. Sajeeva of John Keels. They looked into the organization of our institution and how we operated. They were especially interested in our children’s computing skills. An officer of the Passara Police Station and Mr. Sumith, Grama Niladhari of the area, too, was among the visitors. There were some parents who had come, and Mrs. Chitranganie talked about the importance of IT and the role of ICTA. She explained how ICTA could give an opportunity to the community to benefit from IT. ICTA also introduced the officials or John Keels to us.
