About LakAruna Foundation

The Lak Aruna foundation is located in the small rural town of Hingurukaduwa in the Uva Province, established in 2002 by Janaka Srimal. Seventeen years ago, when the organisation began, it operated on a very basic level due to the students skill level and the lack of facilities available.

English and IT classes were taught and as the organisation grew over time, facilities were donated to the centre which enabled students to reach a higher level of education. Subsequently, some of the students who first attended the organisation are now excelling and working in the field as professional IT specialists.
