Our Mission
Our journey began in 2002 with a simple yet powerful vision: to bring the world of technology to a rural village in Sri Lanka. From humble beginnings with a single computer and a handful of curious children, LakAruna has grown into a respected nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide transformative English and IT education to students from farming communities in the Uva Province. We exist to break down the barriers to higher education and fulfilling careers, empowering the next generation to build a future free from poverty.

The LakAruna Foundation was established with the vision of bringing computer technology to a rural village in Sri Lanka. Located in Hingurukaduwa, we primarily support students from farming families, offering them a chance at a quality education that is often out of reach. Through the dedication of our strong volunteer network, we provide the English and IT skills that are crucial for entering university and building a successful future.
